- If it helps, the SOHC in the Ohio George kit has a C-6, which was standard for most drag cars after '65
- I'll never understand why AMT re-released the convertible '61 as a Trophy instead of the Starliner
- One of the dealers that our agency serviced in NW Ohio turned that paint delaminaton into a mini industry
- The WalMart near us has shelves lined with these - compared to the days when K-Mart and others had aisles of 1/25 kits... *NM*
- Interesting that the '70 Trans Am has nearly the same issue
- [SOUND OF LOUD FOREHEAD SMACK]
- I bet that might be in "Bill of Work" for the tooling... *NM*
- Museum quality build. And I keep wondering... why no kit B-Mack or early Peterbilt/KW? *NM*
- Does the Moby '65 SOHC have the repositioned shock towers - or the quarter-elliptic leaf spring front suspension? *NM*
- Yes on both counts. *NM*
- Clean machine! NIce one. Is that a greyhound hood ornament? *NM*

- My 5-7 *PICS*
- Sort of OT question for the Ford tractor guys...my nephew was just given a 1943 2N. Nobody wants them, or a choice gift? Looks pretty good in the pictures. *NM*
- Nice try, but that has too many “specialized” pieces to make it truly Lego. You couldn’t make anything but that car with those pieces. *NM*
- Where’s the politics? I haven’t mentioned any politics. Cute and clever? I’ve been called cute by a lot of people, but clever not too much. *NM*

- I'm sure there are more knowledgable people than me who will chime in, but here's how I understand it.
- Years ago, there was also the fact that model kit tooling tended to be produced in factories that were Unionized. China has no labor unions, AFAIK.
- Thanks, your's is probably the best take on this I've read, and you remind me of some things I've forgotten, and some I didn't know. The worst part of the whole thing, is that the tooling in China probably aint never coming back. That's sad, and not political. *NM*
- Just information, but I read somewhere that Salvinos has their new tooling made in China, but shipped to the USA for production. I don’t know that for a fact, but “I read it on the internet”. Take it for what it’s worth.
- Listening to the model railroad manufacturers they've tended to speak of the vendors as partners...
- In the ancient of days, the Detroit area was awash with injection mold vendors
- The scale of Atlantis is radically different than Revell or R2 - and they bought the molds for a price right around scrap value
- It sounds like there are too many complexities involved for it to be a simple answer. IMHO, international trade is good when it’s between friendly, trustworthy countries. Beyond that, we’re getting political, so I will stop. *NM*
- I really like the "High School Hot Rod" term that you coined - the root beer float '56 fits it to a T *NM*
- A bunch of '57's...pics
- For 5,7.....Lots of '57 models over the years (PICS)
- I wonder if they do Model T's or similar blocky styled cars *NM*
- Still not a Palmer. If it gets kids in the hobby it's all good. *NM*
- No national politics mentioned, don't censor, that's Spotlight's job *NM*
- Multiple layers of licensing figure into their costs (and pricing) compared with Atlantis *NM*
