  • Hard to tell, but appears to be mounted higher than normal, could be just a standard Gemmer drag link style box as used by Ford, Mopar,GM on most types of beam axled front suspensions up to early 30's.. *NM*

  • I agree to some extent with Brian. When I was growing up, you knew a Chevy, you knew a Ford or you knew a Plymouth by their grills, their taillights. Today to me they all look like jelly beans and unless I can read the badge I can't tell one from the other. *NM*

  • Pretty standard argument from edwardian times,once car design & styles became standardised,there has been standouts over the years,ie Caddy fins,Ponch centre chrome strip,Buick portholes,Bugatti oval radiator,but car design has always gone in cycles,designers copy each other *NM*

      • Yes, It was the basic Revell 1/25 metal kit. The kit's only opening appendage was the stock engine hood. The doors, trunk lid and flip front end had to be cut open (PICS)

    • I'll bet the '64 they're coming out with will have that same fairlane chassis and shock towers the '65 has. The amt '66up falcon has the best pre-'67 engine bay/shock towers. ML had a resin copy at one point IIRC.
  • I went on a"wild goose chase" yesterday. At the MCMA meeting, a fellow club member said he was at a Half Price Books store on Saturday, and he claimed he saw an AMT '64 or '65 Ranchero kt there...for $50! I was headed out after the meeting, when a little voice went off...
    • Modelhaus did '64 and '65 Rancheros...actually they did '62 and '63 also (I oughta know, I did the master for the '62/'63) *NM*

    • While the chassis and drivetrain on these is pretty much worthless, the engine compartment (shock towers)is usable and it's got the only decent pre-'65 generator/mount in scale I know of. *NM*

    • Back in '81, my dad and I looked at a '65 Mustang that had a K-code 289 from a '64 Fairlane under its hood.
      • Back in 1988 or so, I took the heads of a K-code (engine) 1964 Comet station-wagon 4-doors. They were 260, still got them. *NM*
