The '67/8 and '69 chassis are 99.7 percent identical, with just a couple of locator pins added to the top of the newer one and maybe a tweak of the trans mount iirc. One other detail, the '67 had the standard dash and the '68 had the woodgrain XR7 dash.

        The oft-released AMT '69 Cougar was originally the '67-8; if you can find a builder '67-8 you are on your way

        The well detailed MPC '69-73 chassis and engine compartment make for a good swap under the AMT Cougars.
