• apparently those Revell '62 buildups were part of the treasure trove Atlantis rec'd from Revell and were not new test shots as we presumed. Last I heard, Peter and his team were still going through hundreds more sets of tooling and were not really sure if those tools...

• Both images are of a 1972, not 1973 Imprerial. The 1973s were almost identical but had the "big rubber blocks" 5mph front/2.5 mph rear pads added to meet federal legistlation that year....TB *NM*
• A Revellion wouldn't be a bad outcome. I also recall seeing a sneek peek at test shots of other ex-Revell '62 Mopars teased in an Atlantis video last year.
  • Revellion is the only kit with the correct front axle for Mooneyes... but buckle up. The kits are a few clicks south of JoHan in detail
    • IMHO a Revellion is cool enough as is. To convert one back to stock is more effort than I would be willing to go through, especially when there are probably still some originals (and JoHans) out there in the collector market. Cool thought exercise, though.

  • What engine is that - doesn't look like the Chevy pushrod OHV 6 *NM*
    • It's the kit engine. The valve cover is not on yet and the TM says it is a BV-1001. Only difference I can see is the shape of the oil pan. *NM*

        • Didn't the car & trucks all use basically the same Chev 6, different cam,compression etc but essentially the same engine. *NM*

  • Interesting position of the right front passenger seat. Enables face to face two way conversations between everyone except the driver, although they can be face to face with the front passenger. Coool for making the scene at the main drag and the drive up sodas and burgers

      • The days of pulling the engine and replacing rings and bearings by yourself is not the same as now with all the electronics and job specific tools needed and especially the entire network of wires and functions set by software, etc .... Not a job for your average diagnostic
        • Actually there is a pretty decent sized group of young guys modifying late model stuff around here. They just do it differently than we did back in the day.... A lot of body kits, wraps, and turbocharging... Engine swaps seem to be centered around rotary engines...
      • Many just aren't into it. Their perception of cars is different from ours, they see them as "transportation" and nothing else *NM*

    • Re: I know Gary Seeds (purple car) used those Archer dry transfer type louvers but they're not as pronounced and can easily be buried in primer and paint. Pete Sanders modified a Revell '32 Ford 5 window coupe deck lid if I recall. *NM*
      • I wonder if the Archer type could be applied after primer? *NM*
        • Re: I doubt you would get as strong a bond over top of the primer but the paint would help seal them in place possibly. *NM*
        • I'm not sure if you are familiar with how the Archer louvers work, but they are printed on a thick clear film *PIC*
          • I bought a package of those louvers at the Toledo NNL several years ago... Unfortunately, when I finally wanted to use them, they had disappeared into that vast black hole that seems to exist in everyone's model workshop at one time or another.😜 *NM*
