  • That first Chrysler convertible has me remembering when my father owned a '70 Newport convertible. Silver with a black interior, 383, and slotted mag wheels. It was an awesome cruiser. Wish he had been able to keep it. *NM*

  • Agree! I like that it looks as though it will be easy to build into a base civilian vehicle without much effort. Very cool subject matter nonetheless, and the tooling should open up possibilities for many other versions of square bodies as well. *NM*
  • The interior panels and frame rails, to me, suggest it would be easy to swap them out with pickup frame rails and interior panels.� Also note how the rear side windows are on a separate, but attached clear sprue making it easy to delete from a pickup kit. *PIC*
  • I saw that one too! I just happened to stop in at a local hobby shop and they had just gotten in the VW "Surfer Boy Pizza" delivery van. It looks pretty cool.

    • I don't know, hope so, I still haven't opened mine. I'd rather have a 2WD version myself.
    • There are some 2WD parts, but not all of it. Radius arms and some shocks, but no axles or coils. The crossmember with the coil spring pockets is there, if you have the AMT Stones pickup you might be able to use the 2WD parts in it, I’m pretty sure all of it is there. *NM*

  • Terry, I have the Italeri 250GTO which uses the same Columbo V12, & the weber carbys sit straight onto the engine block with the chromed intake trumpets on them, those small extra parts look like the webers & there is 6 holes on the block top for them...methinks, lol. *NM*

• Ironic and sad...Bob hosted a group of us from the original NNL West #2 (Millbrae, CA in January 1983) at his house in Oakland. That visit was pretty amazing. (We also visited Bill Harrison's house in the South Bay that weekend.) Bob was a true icon in our hobby. TB *NM*

  • For some reason, AMT couldn’t get the body right. Winged it instead of using factory blueprints? Their ‘74 update to the Camaro was similar. Same design team? *NM*
    • No promo deal for either car. That, and AMT was starting to "offshore" some of their design and tooling work. They weren't in great shape at the time, but nobody outside the company knew that *NM*
      • AMT was off-shoring design work back then? Wow. No promo deal for the MPC ‘74 Camaro or ‘75 Ventura which eventually became the Nova, but they looked accurate. *NM*
        • MPC was still doing other Chevy promos in '74, mainly Corvettes. AMT exited that business after '72, and the original (pre-Ertl) AMT never went back to promos *NM*

• I have two of the Moebius kits, working on one now, cut the bed down to a low side or west coast as some call it. I have a 60 F-100 waiting for the bed from the other kit. I’ll leave it as a high side, and period correct or not I’m doing it LOL! *NM*
• Chassis is a stocker with tubs for larger rear wheels, but the body is meh - roof is too low and flat
  • As, Ragtop stated, the chassis is basically just that of a back-halved car, so it would be okay for a sportsman/bracket racer or show car.....
    • Wheels are actually Cragar Super Tricks (15 bolts around the outside; Centerlines had more rivets). They're still in the kit. The MPC Nova body will work with this chassis/interior with some tweaks *NM*
