• Good afternoon/evening everyone! I have a slightly unusual project that I would like suggestions on.
  • I'd go with Q-Tips, moistened as little as possible. I wouldn't get anything "wet", and would steer clear of the "field" areas *NM*
  • With a paper field I would avoid any kind of liquid at first. I would use a small desk fan or reversed flow shop vac from a distance starting at a distance from the stadium main entrance blowing in the line of the seating rows toward the more open scoreboard end. Then use a
    • You could spray furniture polish on a soft cloth to clean and shine the wooden base. *NM*
    • I second the Swiffer idea to get as much loose stuff off as possible before using lightly moistened Q-Tips.. *NM*
  • Avoid any sort of cleaning wipes, even ones labelled enviromentally friendly, as I've had them soften solvent-based finishes (or completely dissolve them). Dusting some of the surfaces with a microfiber towel or dry q-tip may work *NM*

• Earlier today I returned to Oregon (IL), for the Nash Car Club of America's Grand National car show.... Got to check out quite a few cars that weren't at the host hotel the other evening... So cool to see cars that you don't find at most shows... *PICS* *LINK*

    • I keep looking at it, I'm not so sure. When I enlarge the picture on my phone, the more blurred it gets making it difficult to tell what it is. I did notice that there's the "lock", 2 bolts, and the bottom looks like a locator with a hole in its side. Am I seeing it right? *NM*
    • Yes. It is a lock to secure the spare from theft. *NM*
  • This is a really cleanly designed engine compartment... Integral cam/generator/fan (I don't see a fan belt unless it's in front of the fan, not much space there though)... *NM* *PIC*

    • Marty, did you get any pics of the "Twin Ignition" Nash engine, they were 1930's with a twin spark plug setup...the Fisher crossflow head in AMT's 51 Chev kits has a Nash twin plug dissy cap with 12 terminals...useless info I know.....lol. *NM*

  • I know I have heard of Nash as a car brand but do not remember actually seeing one in real life. Thanks for posting pics of a gathering of them. It seems they were once substantial cars in the American market. What happened? It appears they were part of (?) AMC at one
    • Nash morphed into Rambler then AMC late 50's/early 60's...those 50's Nash Cans were known as the "bathtub" styled Nash, I only remember one here in Oz in the early 70's, it/they are a very distinctive design. *NM*
    • Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 to form AMC. After 1957, both the Nash and Hudson brands were dropped in order to concentrate on the Rambler name *NM*
  • That Austin is fascinating. IIRC I saw a similar one at a concours even here in New England several years back. There were several car brands named Austin. It's a pity I'm not related to any of them. *NM*

• These are the nails I use. Ruler isde is 1/64 inch gradations. I just pick through to find the ones I want to use. *NM* *PIC*
• What I do with mine is file a small gouge in the open end of my styrene square and paint it black so it looks like the end is completely open. *PIC*
• Just finished building the new '68 Dodge coronet, (sorry, no pics)and it might be the best kit I have ever built. The locating pins and holes were dead on (except for the grill, that was an easy fix), and the front and rear glass mount very nicely. more....

• That 33 Nash is from Pittsburgh PA. Gentlemen name is Jeff Lentz. He as 4 or 5 of the 33s. 2 are street rods the rest are beautifully restored vars *NM*
• I wish I could have been part of the NNL scene back then.... I used to just marvel over all the cool models in the SAE coverage of those shows. I didn't attend my first NNL Nationals until 2007. *NM*
