• Picked up a 'new' book this weekend, on George Barris, written by his son a few years ago.
  • This was a really interesting book project...including 24 pages of dedicated model car kit text and photos...here's some more background on the book and the effort behind it...

  • Haven't ordered for several years, but the ones I got varied between $5-$10 depending on article. They are basically tutorials done by modelers doing detailed builds. Some are better than others *NM*

  • I have done the 24 Hour Model Build quite a few times. As suggested planning is paramount. My build of the truck you have chosen is down the board a bit and should be relatively easy without problems. *NM*

• There is a handful of 2WD parts in there but not all of them. The crossmember is there with two radius arm and two shocks…
  • As the moeb frames were cribbed from the AMT parts, the F350 kit 2wd parts will fit fit these frames with little effort. *NM*

• So I was looking through the MCW model paint catalog and I saw both a black and a white 'texture' paint. Has anyone here used it? I'm guessing it to simulate vinyl tops. *NM*
  • I just tried the white. It came out really glossy and hardly any texture even when I held the airbrush way back. I got a much better result using Tamiya white primer holding the can far away from the body. Your results may vary. *NM*

  • I wish they included the stock wheels so you could build a stock version. I never did like the original version of the stock wheels by MPC. The rim edges were too thick. AMT’s version, old and new tool (70.5 z28) are much better, but I wish they were chrome plated. *NM*
