Finished PICs At some time in the future, I may go back and hinge the front clip but maybe not.
SNEAK PEEK - Auto Modeler Magazine Oct/Nov cover.
Can't wait!! *NM*
How about a T-Bucket Tuesday? (Early Start....) *PIC*
Very Nice! *NM*

Tweedy Pie and Rodfather! Excellent! *NM*
Here's one........ *PIC*
Stop light drag? The driver bragged, "It was a gas, right?" She said, "I was definitely aghast!" ;^) *NM*
One more....... *PIC*

Here's a couple...pics....
Well it is a T bucket... Just a really fast one.... *PIC*
My Revell T... *NM* *PIC*
Re: My Revell T... *PIC*
Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Reunion... *LINK*
WOW!!!! I am sooooooo jealous! Gonna be putting that show on my "someday" list. *NM*
What great place to visit and the museum is wonderful!! *NM*
A Hoity Toity hotrod show, those are nice pics and some beautiful dashes! *NM*
My first kit video!!! Plez look...... *LINK*
Nice little video, Dave... Sure would love to those kits issued once again. Especially the T -bone Stake and the Meter Cheater. .... You listening Atlantis???? *NM*
Thanks and I 2nd that! *NM*
I have the yellow one and the red one...forget the names of them ! *NM*
That's way cool, Dave. *NM*
Nice video. It would be cool to see that kit and all the others related to it get released again. *NM*
Neat video and a nice little build Dave! *NM*
I'm not big on Mopars but the Tony Stewart cars this weekend really remind me of the old Justice Brothers cars from back in the day! They look good! Used to see lot of Jr Stockers with that line stars down the hood! *NM*
They sure make it difficult to find pictures! *NM* *PIC*
Thanks for posting those Bill! *NM*
What is the website to find out about cars used in movies and such? Thanks. *NM*
https://www.imcdb.org/ *NM*
Yep, that's it. *NM*
thanks *NM*
Happy Labor Day everyone. Sounds like a holiday for women about to become mothers!! *NM*
Fresh small town car show photos... Part 2.... I spent the afternoon in Orion, Illinois. for the Fall Fest Car Show.... *PICS* *LINK*
Great PICS Thanks Marty!! *NM*
Good show Marty! *NM*
Max was there with Cristi and grandparents. I had to sit that one out, as I wasn't feeling well. Great pics! *NM*
Haven't seen any of those before... Great oddball stuff. *NM*
Fresh small town car show photos.... I pulled another one of my car show "double-dips" today... I started out this morning, at the Labor Day Festival, in (tiny) Bradford, Illinois..... *PICS* *LINK*
Great show, thanks for sharing. If only Johan had done this version with their '75 Cutlass *PIC*
Too bad they didn’t go on to do the face-lifted ‘76-‘77 442 models. *NM*
Personally, I'd be THRILLED to find the 3 Jo-Han '75 cutlasses hidden somewhere in my "stuff"....BOXART INSIDE
Thanks Marty! *NM*
Love the tutone '56 Vicky and the Corn Binder patina pickup. Question, though: Were there ever skirts for the AMT '56 in a kit or the aftermarket?
The ones pictured could probably be cut down from AMT '49 coupe pieces. For "cruiser" skirts, you'd have to paw through some early Sixties annual kits to find something *NM*
The ones from the '49 Ford work pretty well. *NM*
I knew I'd seen some in the junk box, couldn't recall where. Many thanks! *NM*
I like the Fairmont Futura!!! Always wanted to cross a Futra and a Fairmont wagon and make a two door wag!! Thx *NM*
Great stuff sir...... *NM*
Love the small town shows with their more attainable cars. Great show and pics! *NM*
Brain fart alert. Ignore my last post. I typed in 66 GTO instead of 66 442. GTO light blue engine. 442 gold engine. Back to your regular scheduled program......... *NM*
Actually, since the engine in the 1966 442 is a 400 ci, it should be bronze. from 1964-1972 the 330 and 350 was gold and the 400 was bronze and the 1970-1972 455 was blue. The 1968-1969 Hurst Olds 455 was red. *NM*
I called it gold but bronze is probably a better name for it *NM*
They are definately 2 different colors. Oldsmobile painted them different colors to help differentiate the 2 sizes of engines. *NM*
I'm working on the AMT 66 442 and the instructions say the engine should be gold. Internet pictures tells me it should be light blue. Instructions also say the pan should be black. Internet is no help. So what color should the oil pan be? *NM*
Please see next post. ignore the above. *NM*
Please see next post. ignore the above. *NM*
Nice assortment! *NM*
OT: Did anyone watch/see the ABB NASCAR EV Prototype reveal? I just saw pics of it, & didn't know what to think of it. I haven't watched... *PIC*
Wrong on so many levels......wing, SUV, Electric...etc etc
I'm not even an EV-hater and I think these are stupid. Why a baby pretend-SUV? *NM*
I didn't know about before this, but won't watch EV racing. *NM*
It’s what people are driving today, though. Sedans are dying. Sporty 2dr coupes are dying or almost dead. CUV’s and EV’s are selling like hot cakes. *NM*
EV's are not selling at all.......
I thought the Tesla Model Y was the best selling vehicle in the world? I would never have imagined Ford not selling sedans anymore or GM discontinuing the Camaro once again. *NM*
Tesla overall is selling just OK........
Fisher, Vivian, affordable but junk? *NM*
Inside parking not recommended....I believe I have seen parking outside prohibited in some state parks due to fire hazzard concerns , There many valid concerns that are not being talked about. *NM*
Agreed........As EV is the 'official' car being pushed.....no negative press allowed. *NM*
Unfortunately it seems no one in this hobby is premitted to speak ill of Big Oil. *NM*
Speaking of concerns not being talked about, ICE cars have been known to spontaneously combust, leading to recalls. *NM*
Tell it. Everyone complains bitterly about the price of gasoline, but they buy enormous BroDozers and wonder what happened... *NM*
Not me...ditched my second pickup seven years ago. Current vehicle works just as well for me (better in winter) and gets 2X the gas mileage *NM*
ICE vehicles don't experience a phenomenon called thermal runaway. Look it up and then ask a firefighter what they think about it. Until that major issue is solved, I will remain cold on EVs. Vehicle fires are scary enough as it is. *NM*
Saw a report that Ford is cutting back on EV production to build more Super Duty trucks because that's what people are buying. GM is slowing, too. *NM*
Ford spun off the EV division so if it goes belly up less affect on FoMoCo.......what does that say?? *NM*
Seperate P+L from Truck and Pass Car, Service and Parts, Fleet *LINK*
Ford isn't abandoning the EV market. From what I've read, Ford is merely slowing the pace of production, near term. Long term plains are said to still be in place... *LINK*
If this is the future I'm done watching NASCAR, it's bad enough as it is. *NM*
Obviously you have not been watching. I have for 50 years. Racing has been fantastic. Tonight's was pretty incredible. And no, they have no plans to go all-electric any time soon. Hopefully this "Green Agenda" will end on Nov. 5th. *NM*
If he gives Musk a cabinet position, that may not happen. *NM*
Keep yer politics to yerself, Bill. *NM*
Mike L: They are trying to cooperate with the latest government "agenda". Don't worry, it isn't happening anytime soon. Well, maybe as another division, but I doubt it. *NM*
Oh no! CHANGE... How will we ever survive? The NASCAR truck series seems popular enough. I'm surprised there wasn't a minivan or SUV series years ago. Could have been fun. *NM*
How about a return to riding mechanics? Here's my endurance-racing "stock car" Econoline from the '70s *NM* *PIC*
COOL! I have a project like that but with stick on fender flares from the Mustang II kit....need to fiinish! *NM*
I like it! *NM*
Pickup trucks are cool... Always have been.... SUVs, meh... I guess they're okay...... Minivans??? Sure. Let's start a soccer mom division while we're at it. *NM*
While the US minivan market was still a thing, I remember Voyager / Caravan cargo versions used by tradesmen. *NM*
Round 2 Product Spotlight September 2024 *LINK*
Shelby Daytona Z with a front drive V8!? I never got that kit before. Gotta get one now!! 😂
They need to give GM pony car fans some love too. Reissue the ‘92 Camaro Z28 and ‘92 Firebird GTA. The annuals are getting pricey on flea bay. *NM*
My money is safe for some additional Moby purchases *NM*
YouTube *VIDEO*: Someone built a LARGE scale R/C model of the "BJ And The Bear" Kenworth and trailer. *LINK*
Has anyone tried Dupli-Color Metalcast Paint on a model? *NM*
Yes. With primer and gold undercoat, the red gives a very nice candy apple red. *NM*
Automotive or hobby primer? Automotive or hobby gold? *NM*
All Duplicolor. *NM*
Thank you *NM*
What kind of clear to use? *NM*
Duplicolor, not IK. had issues with 1K. *NM*
Yes. They work great. *PIC*
Do you recommend automotive or hobby primer? Automotive or hobby gold? *NM*
Automotive all the way. The gold and clearcoat both are Duplicolor. *NM*
What did you use for the candy? *NM*
That's part of the Metalcast "system": base, candy color, clearcoat. *NM*
This is the blue over silver with Future over coat.
Nice! *NM*
Here's a couple of examples from WTH Motorsports.... *PIC*
In the background, is that a '62 Impala? What are you using to hold the body? Is it homemade? *NM*
Yes it is (haven't found the guts to foil it yet). Mike L, go back 5 postings. You'll see "paint stand PIX." Hopefully that'll help, if not, you're always welcome to email
[email protected]
. *NM*
Agree on the BMF - borders on a phobia for me and I'd say a few others *LINK*
Kind of ironic that a Lazy Susan can help you get organized *NM*
Now THAT'S funny... *NM*
Has any P/U been kitted with a ladder rack for the bed? Or any aftermarket one done? Thanks. *NM*
Touch Tone Terror has one IIRC *NM*
The Touch Tone Terror ladder rack is somewhat simplified with the front crossmember designed to attach at roof....DRAWING
Most construction and roofing companies I worked for, they made their own!
They are not very complicated. If you were to do a quick blueprint and build a jig, they would be straightworward to scratchbuild
Body Prep PIX
What grit sandpaper do you use to do that? Thanks. *NM*
I agree.....
I use Tamiya #800 over a straight, flat block. FWIW, the body now feels smooth enough to shoot. Also, FWIW, the Tamiya sandpaper is the best I've ever used--it's all I use now. *NM*
I like to use wet/dry automotive sandpaper. *NM*
Great reminder and visuals! *NM*
You said the Gunze Finishing Surfacer Gray 1500 is airbrush thin. Did you use an airbrush or a rattle can? *NM*
Sorry I wasn't clearer, MikeL. I meant that Gunze spray-can stuff is as thin as the primer you'd shoot in an airbrush. (For those of us too lazy to get the brush out...) Sorry, friend. *NM*
Really good point on surfacing - this is what separates the oh from the wow
Scribing wheel well & glass trim
Thanks for posting that. When I scribe with an x-acto or scriber, it always jumps out and puts a scratch or groove on the body. *NM*
Excellent tip! Thanks for posting! *NM*
Good explanatory pics of a good idea. Thanks! *NM*
Great, er, pointer! Also is very helpful for making a convertible from a coupe
No! It’s in my private archive. Just send me your email. *NM*
That '32 Ford P/U is very clever with the flames and burnt wood. *NM*
X3! *NM*
Very cool pics, well curated! Nice job as always. And my usual soapbox rant: Where is the B-Mack Kit???????? *NM*
Well Ione of these days.... After I win the Powerball..... 😁.. *NM*
I like that little Sunbird! *NM*
Definitely a very nicely done conversion to a basically forgotten car. *NM*
Yeah! The Deuce and a half was not a big truck! *NM*
Hey, what's this getting organized business? LOL. *NM*
I see more model projects Bill!! *NM*
My buddy's dad had a '63 convert. It was turquoise. Gorgeous car. *NM*
They look great! *NM*
I agree!! *NM*
Precusor to the wide oval... *NM*
Yup..... I remember the "Shape Of Things To Come" ads quite well.... Turns out that the shape of things to come was actually the jellybean or the box. *NM*
