- Good evening guys, I have a friend asking if I might have an AMT '63 Imperial custom grille. I can't find a picture of the kit instructions online. Does anyone have that kit that could share a picture of the custom grille and/or the instructions? Thank you! *NM*
- A few days ago Frank sent me a few pics of a Comet that he recently finished... *PICS*.
- Friday Evening Randomness.... *PICS*
- Custom T-bird nose. *PIC*
- Really good show! *NM*
- Miscellaneous Mopar Madness *PICS*
- Key is to be able to fill with the light so lower details are not lost...
- Was going thru the kit stash & found the 2008 reissued MPC Rupp Super Sno-Sport snowmobile dragster, 1/20 scale originally issued in 1969....as snow is almost non-existant here in Oztralia the kit was not a big seller.....lol...has anyone here built it or seen one built?. *NM*
- Sanding stick question. I buy packs of sanding sticks with a range of 180-5000 grit. I mainly use the 400 stick and it wears out the soonest. I would like to buy a lot of 400 sticks. Are sanding grit numbers universal? If I bought a pack of 400, will they be the same no.....
- International 4700 firetruck *PIC*
- Marty....completely agree on your comments about Elliott....he's building way, way beyond his age. We all should watch this young man's work....TB *NM*
- Black is a great background as long as you have good lighting and you have very good lighting, sir. *NM*
- What might have been! PIC Or may still be. The gunmetal crinkled and I now have to decide if I just finish it or strip the paint. If I strip it, I am not going to tape off the coves again. I will just go for a single color and I used the last of the gunmetal. So ?
- The black definitely makes that car pop Scott. *NM*
- Good stuff! *NM*
- Lotsa creativity there... Love that '58 pontiac ! *NM*
- Great show! *NM*
- I have a GP Dyno Racer scored for a pittance that is in White - assumed all the MPC coasters were in the same plastic *NM*
- Good show, lots of neat stuff. That group of '60s Vettes is pretty cool. All by the same guy? Any idea who?.Thanks for sharing your show coverage. *PIC*
- Agree. True black would lose the tires and shadows in the pictures. 10 year old asphalt gray might be a place to start but the car color would also have to be a big part of the decision. *NM*
- By the way, I'm totally with you on deviating from the 1:1 in grille colour. IIRC, only R/Ts and Super Bees had blacked out grilles, and even then it was only the vertical "teeth" in the grilles that were blacked out. Whomever did the 1:1 messed up badly on the grilles.
- That figure doesn't surprise me, I get the Airfix magazine & going by the show reports its not surprising....I'd think mostly military vehicles & military aircraft, the "civilian" vehicles interest doesn't seem very high.....lol. *NM*
- I seem to recall that the plastic felt different, less brittle and more robust (?) than a regular model kit. So that would make sense.
- The other half of my busy model car weekend was the Cedarville (IL) Model Car Show and Swap Meet.... *PICS* *LINK*
- My dentist explained that with colors (especially light ones) can be altered in appearance or tone by the surface opposite or reflected in them. Ergo, you might want to experiment with a couple different background colors for best result with different builds *NM*
- A light blue background allows the car to stand out as well. *NM*
- I like the T-Bird pickup and the chopped 58 :) Thanks for the shots :) *NM*
- You did good Scott!! *NM*
- Thanks Marty! *NM*
