- Wow. Mother had one of those in Aztec Bronze but it was not the SS with the big block. It was a great car. She and her mother and a sister (maybe 2 sisters?- not sure) went on a ride to visit family and see where they used to live in Arkansas. They had a great time and
- Thank you, thank you all so, so much for all of the comments and compliments on my 1966 Impala SS build. It's an honor to be a part of a group of wonderful modelers. I love seeing everyones builds posted here too. *NM*
- Question for the old guys......
- Nope, only ever heard of an Auto World catalog once the internet arrived, for me,it was waiting for a Saturday morning when I could catch the train into Sydney & go spend some hours oggling the kits & built models at HobbyCo,the biggest by far hobby & model shop around. *NM*
- It wasn’t such a big thing for me, but I do recall being excited to get the latest Hobby Heaven list in the mail. *NM*
- The first time I saw the AutoWorld catalog...
- Ditto on the catalog, and on mowing the lawns. *NM*
- Absolutely, I remember it. Looking through all of the stuff to see what I might find for modeling.
- Still have many of them!!!! *NM*
- Yeah! My dad started getting those when I was a kid and I got them later. Same with catalogs from Model Empire in Milwaukee. I wish I had kept some of that stuff. *NM*
- I'm not quite as old, but yeah.... I first discovered the Auto World catalog some time around 1972. Spent hours and hours pouring through it's pages. After that I'd look forward to the next edition....
- I spent paper route and lawn mowing money on models too. I found Auto World in the Model Car Science magazines I was buying at the drug store.Nelson's hardware store had models upstairs. I still dream about all the models I could not afford *NM*
- Yes, Still have mine around here somewhere....
- Started getting them on the news stand sometime around 1964. Once you placed an order (and there were many) they started sending the catalogs for free in the mail. Really miss those days!
- Great memories...
- Aahhhh, the Auto World catalogs! Between models, tools and HO slot car stuff, they got a good majority of my paper route income. In hindsight - still more fun than putting it in the bank! *NM*
- I got my first Auto-World catalog in 1978...
- Attention Scott Colmer....Auto Modeller # 11 has arrived in sunny South Grafton, New South Wales, Australia...............thank you linesmen, thank you ballboys........thank you Scott.......lol. *NM*
- I'm still not happy with my throttle return springs. I can't get the coils spaced equally. How do you guys get even spacing? *NM*
- I tried a new throttle return spring on the 1966 Impala. This is the best that I can do. Is it good enough for judging or should I remove it?Also, I see that I need to reposition the hose clamp at the intake water neck. .......... *PICS* .....
- Question for the kit historians........
- I made a mold of the older MPC pickup bumper so I have a few cast but I'm thinking that brush guard is spaced about right to cut the horizontal bars away and trim it down some to turn it into bumper guards. *NM*
- Graveyard Carz released the youTube video on the second unresotre '74 'Cuda 360--black paint, black vinyl top, white seats... *LINK* *PIC*

- The aftermarket did a lot with the 200R4 ... and for that matter, the Powerglide
- A couple things... *PICS*
- X2 on the nice. And you'll want a little tighter wrap on the spring coils too. *NM*
- Yeeeeeeeeesssss!!!!!! "Gnarly looking" (your words, not mine) return spring aside, THAT is simply a beautiful model! *NM*
- BEAUTIFUL! *NM*
