  • Interesting. I'm glad none of those were ever made. The Barracuda is the worst looking of all of them. What made them think putting a higher, bubble-like greenhouse on top of the Barracuda body was going to work? It's horrible. *NM*
    • They used '71-up B-body doors on that, which were visually too tall, IMHO. I think if they could have done it as a hardtop it would have been more pleasing in profile. *NM*
    • Here in Oz when 2dr cars were not the norm & 4drs much more common I don't mind the 4dr Cuda, the side profile seems o/k tho' the rear pillar in a 3/4 front pic looks too thin, my oz 1.5 cents worth = 2 US cents worth. *NM*

  • You hit your target dead center! Looks terrific and fits the era very well. Personal favorite touch is the Dodge Lancer whelcovers. I had some 1:1 aftermarket ones on my '61 Chevy 4 door flattop sedan back in high school. Big step up from the Chevy dog dishes. LOL *NM*
  • I agree with Bill, I especially like not only the hubcaps but the use of the Lil Coffin interior & the Olds steering wheel....my brother had a rare in Oz one on his 1:1 roll panned custom 51 Chev Sedan...was the 1/25th one from a kit or aftermarket?...you did well, Marty. *NM*
    • Thanks Andy..... The steering wheel was a kit piece (I'm assuming from an annual kits) that I found in a parts box at a show sometime back.

        • . judging by some of the other parts in the junk box that I pulled the steering wheel out of, I'm almost positive that it came from a 60 Oldsmobile kit. *NM*

          • We, my brother & me never knew what year Olds the wheel was from but it was a mid grey colour & he had to shorten the Chev column by about 10" ....the wheel got a lot of comments here in Oz.....lol. *NM*

      • I love a nice mild custom as well as the radical stuff like my Thunderbird.... A simple nosing and decking, along with shaving the emblems can go a long way to in improving a cars appearance.... *PIC*

• Lots of flat sources out there. If you need a windshield or rear glass with some arc to it, Listerine 1 L or 500 mL are clear and a little stiffer with some segments that might work well. Just need to carefully select good ones when buying. *NM*

• I've also used fast-drying (think, Krylon) flat silver spray paint on the localized (mask it off) area, lights up the remaining/ghosting like a highlighter *NM*
  • Have also heard of using liquid cement applied lightly to raise the grain, but I'm not brave enough for that yet. *NM*
    • Use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, Ragtop Man. It dries very quickly--doesn't penetrate like regular styrene cement--only goes deep enough to stop ghosting. *NM*
