• NEED HELP: Windshield washer reservoir--hose goes from the reservoir to ?? on the washer motor/pump? Google PIX not much help. *NM*
  • All of my cars have the pump built into the reservoir, then a line goes from the pump to the washer nozzles on the hood or cowl i *NM*
    • All depends on what car you are talking about. For example, many cars, even up until the '70s, had a manual pump (on the floor) for the washers. *NM*

      • Yes, I remember pumping that rubber thingy on the floor with my foot. *NM*
        • Well, on my '69 Dodge with the foot pump, the hose comes out the bottom of the resevoir and goes into a grommet located just about where the floorboards and firewall come together, near driver's right foot. *NM*

  • A lot of the GM cars since the early '70s have the washer pump built into the wiper motor. *NM*

  • I could never figure out way they wouldn't combine the two mags....Have Fine Scale in the front then pages of advertisers flip it over to do Scale Auto. You basically use the same advertisers. may have to add a few pages. *NM*
    • They could gain the lost subscribers do that, so that should make up what they lost. Just spit balling but you never know. *NM*

    • For me, I realistically know that I won’t get around to reading the non-car stuff, rightly or wrongly. So if I won’t read over half the magazine, I won’t subscribe to it - simple as that. I will buy an individual copy if there is something of particular interest. *NM*

  • To be totally honest when the pulled the plug on Scale Auto I pretty much gave up on them. Then to squish car coverage into Fine Scale was a insult
  • I think the big question is why did SAE fail?
    • Many of the mags on your list are NOT found on bookstores or hobby store shelves. Many of them don't print more than a few thousand of any issues.

              • No. I don't have many of their items, nor do I run into them at shows often *NM*
                • I remember the "conversion" being copies of parts from the Buick engine pack (oil pan, transmission) *NM*
                  • I don't recall them ever re-issuing the Buick engine (Revell C1103) ... The Ford 427, Cadillac 354, Chevy 283, Pontiac 421 are the ones I remember. *NM*
                    • I guess nowadays we could use parts from the new '29 Ford Roadster kits to convert IVO engines to street use. *NM*
                    • Revell never reissued it. Atlantis has it, as I understand it still exists, but so far they have not used it. For a single engine dragster application, only the oil pan is needed and that could be cast or fabbed *NM*
• I built the AMT kit back when it was first issued, in 1975 (I was all of 14 years old)…. I remember thinking, even back then, that it looked a bit funky. *NM*

  • Dont have a kit handy but if it helps, other than the body itself the kit (cage, chassis, engine etc) is the same as the other generation Monogram Tbirds and follow the same assembly process, there are a few of the others on the drastic plastic site that could glom from *NM*

    • It just dawned on me... the three double stack trailers appear from the top cars to each combo specializing in MOPAR, Ford, or GM. I cannot be certain since I cannot see all the bottom cars. If so, cool idea and probably all done by the same builder. Quite an achievement. *NM*
      • Yes, those were done by the same builder. I had one car hauler with recent builds as the top load. (the Impala on the bottom is sort of stuck on the bottom deck) *NM*
    • Those are amazing! I agree that it would be great to see pics of each individual truck not so close together though I understand that space limitations during a hobby show would make that difficult.
      • The builds on the car haulers are (in my case) built as separate models and for display purposes on a car hauler (saves space) *NM*

• My second build for 2024. Monogram 1/32 snap 1968 GTO. I lost the steering wheel for this and the only other 1/32 steering wheel that I had was for the Monogram 1/32 1970 Mach 1. It looks way out of place in there. ............... *PICS* ........

  • The design of the steering wheel (three spoke) looks very similar to the 68 GTO’s, I think if you painted the center spokes silver only you would really know it’s not the correct one *NM*

    • Actually, several years ago I was heavily into 1/32 slot cars. I built a lot of my own with bodies and interiors from many 1/32 model kits. I built 4 of these Monogram 68 GTO's. One was white w/ a red interior like the 68 Lemans I had at the time. *NM*
