• This past weekend was a very busy model car weekend for me... I started with the Kustom Kemps In Miniature (KKIM) spring meet in Geneseo (IL) *PICS* *LINK*

  • Depends upon the colour of the car to some extent, IMHO. In this case the black background really makes the white roof pop, and shows the burnt orange as well. The roof almost disappears with the white background. On the other hand, a black or dark car might suffer with

• Good evening everyone, I am in search of a decent stock rear bumper, body insert and taillights for an MPC '69 Bonneville.ragtop. I'm also looking for the bench seat and headlights for a '68 Bonnie. If anyone happens to have these even in resin I thank you for reaching out! *NM*
  • I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure the '68 has bucket seats *NM*
    • I see that the '67 came with buckets and the '69 kits came with a bench but I found a picture of the '68 box amd it does indeed show stock and custom buckets.. Thanks Mark! *NM*
• The past few days I have been doing the basic, initial work on my Project Tiori. *LINK*
• The Host has an MPC Dyno Racer Corvette in the built kit section.....
  • It was a failed gravity track racing series. Probably one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" things. *NM*
  • MPC liked to use bodies as many times as possible, as body tooling cost a lot. They tried the idea again in 1970 ("Fast Pack") without the cast metal chassis *NM*
    • A fragementation kit - put all that inertia into a styrene body and you have a recipe for a very long face on a 10-year-old *NM*
      • Was it molded from a more resilient mix of plastic? My older brother had one when we were kids and the only thing I remember was the front bumper beak getting pushed in a bit. Maybe my memory is not so accurate, but I don’t recall the body breaking at all. *NM*

  • I participate in build offs on Instagram on a regular basis. They’re usually two months long. There are some who never finish. There are some who always finish and then there’s me who finishes some of the time. Lol. *NM*

        • The independent suspension swaps (Corvette, or Jaguar sedan) seem to be the way to go for those. Gets rid of the torque tube rear axle, and the unavailable front suspension parts *NM*
