• 85 Blazer firewall question: Google PIX show body color & black. Given production process, wouldn't firewall be body color? *NM*
  • I remember them all being like a semi gloss black on the firewall in those years with the engine bay sides being body color and black plastic wheel wells ?? *NM*
  • All were semi gloss black. Any with body color firewalls have been repainted. *NM*

  • They probably mean the resin is about the same hardness as ABS (think dark gray Plastruct). IMO, a lot of the early/grainy stuff will never get built...

  • I think I know the 3D caster you are speaking of and the bodies are what seems like the lowest resolution / barely visible door - hood gap lines and hard as a rock !! You will put many hours into sanding and getting the gap lines back in if you get it !!......

  • FYI - the glass on the Johan 60 Desoto looks the same to me as what is on the 62 Chrysler. I have both built up and placed them side by side. Might help you expand your search. *NM*
    • When I built them the DeSoto glass fit the Crysler better and vice-versa. Go figure. *NM*
    • DeSoto windshield glass has a "brow" at the top, Chrysler does not...

    • Much better off to scratchbuild side window from clear acetate - Don is out of business for nearly a decade by now *NM*
      • Maybe contact the "new" Jo-Han in Ohio, their kits seem to include some original parts. Might be reluctant to sell parts separately though *NM*

    • The Hemi cylinder heads and related parts. All previous issues have the wedge engine *NM*
      • Wedge parts were pretty cool, too - are they still in the box or is that gate shut off?
        • Not sure. I've got as many '65 Coronets as I "need" (these and original MPC) so I'll be passing on this one *NM*

            • The sprue beside the exhaust system has what maybe the wedge heads & the chrome sprue directly below the exhaust system may have the thin wedge valve covers...or I'm completely wrong......lol. *NM*

        • Put a few coates of Tamiya flat clear over them..It makes a big difference.. *NM*
      • Didn't look like it to me. As Mark said, this was simply opening gates in the tool that were already there. But I will bet the 3D universe comes up with a 'universal' Coronet grille... or...
        • I have seen 3D print grilles that fit the Moebius kits (which don't really need replacements) *NM*
    • Doesn't the Hemi version have the single headlight grille? In my opinion, the kit grille has a decided grin to it that shouldn't be there, in other words the ends kinda curl up

  • Had lacquer thinner on fingers-not evaporated yet--went through clearcoat & body color--of course, one the the very few times the paint turned out pretty good. *NM*

  • If I were casting such an axle, the '32 piece would be pretty far down the list; it ain't that good *NM*
  • Yeah, I think you guys are right, It might be closer to a 6 or even 8 scale inch drop, which is far more than I need. I think i'll just take the drop out of the spring and perch and use the stock axle. The 29 used the I beam anyway, and I want to keep it close to stock.

• “maybe” could resurrect it with lacquer thinner but at that point it’s no longer an acrylic so why , better just to pick up a new bottle. I take so long on projects I’m usually having to buy/replace a few every year , upside is it brushes so nicely when it’s new :^ *NM*
• Did any of the AMT 32 Fords have the model B ( 4cylinder) option or were they all V8s?
  • The roadster kits have the four. And the headlamp bar minus V8 emblem, and hubcaps with Ford oval instead of V8 logo *NM*
    • Thinking about it, it's strange...the roadster was the first '32 AMT did, and even though the '32 was the first year for the V8 they chose the four *NM*
  • Re the distributor upgrade for the Model A engines AFAIK no AMT/MPC or Revell Model A ever had the round style distributor, happy to be wrong tho'. *NM*

    • Only three kits I can think of with non-stock parts for the A/B engine...AMT and Revell '29 kits, and Revell '31 *NM*
      • I found the B motor centrifical advance distributor on the chrome tree of the 29 Rat Rod Pickup. *NM*
