Just finished. A 1971 Twister. Sister car to the Demon Sizzler........... *PICS* .....
Nice build and a great job on the hood. *NM*
Looks great! Especially the paint job. You should take pictures of the 2 cars together. *NM*
Nice build! That’s a beauty. *NM*
Awesome build, Scott! You captured the look of the Twister package perfectly! Muscle car looks without the high insurance premiums! *NM*
Miscellaneous Mopar Madness *PICS*
MIDNIGHT RIDER II, now there's a car I'd like to see a decal set made for. *NM* *PIC*
Thanks Bill!! *NM*
Does someone have a good email address for Steve Goldman? TIA. *NM*
This just in from Hollywood: New streaming series "Duster" *LINK*
Send this to Round 2. *NM*
Cool! *NM*
We already have a Duster from Round 2. What we need is the Mark IV from Cannon… *NM* *PIC*
Re: "Duster" *NM* *PIC*
What car do you think is the police vehicle behind it? *NM*
Looks a 70's Satilite *NM*
"MAX": Another streaming service I refuse to pay extra for. *NM*
I get Max through my phone service, so I'm gonna try and watch it. *NM*
Central Texas - got mine a couple of days ago, enjoying it. They are doing a good job for a group that is just getting started. Congrats to them. I expect they will be asking for resubscriptions soon. I intend to do that when it comes up. *NM*
Thanks to Marty for posting my stuff and thank everybody for the kudos. *NM*
Re: Frank I got the seats today Thanks . *NM*
You are so welcome.... Glad to help. *NM*
When the AMT Chevy 3500 came out last year, I decided build my version of the AMT/ERTL 3500 Street Machine released in 1994.
I remember that kit. I loved it. *NM*
Nice build. I like how you did the side pipe exhaust. That's thinking outside the box. *NM*
Caution! a PROWLER is on the loose.
When I saw the Prowler concept on display at the L.A. Roadster show I imagined these.....pics....
A couple more Prowlers... *PIC*
Love your full retro version! If MOPAR had put a hotter engine in them I think they would have sold a lot more. *NM*
Using up Intrepid parts basically could have been s much more. *NM*
Nice work R/S...I especially like the Phantom Vicky. *NM*
There was the T Sedan Delivery & T Tourer...were you including the 34 Roadster as the third kit? *NM*
There's also the two-door sedan; the first kit in the series, and the only one with a 1:1 counterpart *NM*
I'm taking about the three Model T kits... lil' John Buttura's 26 sedan was first issued around 1974, this was followed by the '27 Touring a year or two later.... Sometime in the early 80's the sedan was converted to a delivery.
Great build Munchie...their Lotus 29 with the coventry Climax engine is a great kit also...as are all thier F1 kits. *NM*
US & Oz Post use a 4 legged crab...all legs on the same side........lol. *NM*
Many of my model tires originate in obscure places. These Jeep tires are on example from a 1/35 kit...PICS INSIDE...
What replating services? Spotlight Hobbies is only one I know of that is still left. However, no one has tried them yet, AFAIK. *NM*
Someone on here used Spotlight's service and was pleased. I have no idea if anyone else is doing vacuum plating. *NM*
I wonder why they went “silent” when I asked if anyone had used the Spotlight Hobbies plating service, yet? *NM*
Mike, I see you've asked this question 4-5 times since Jan. and nobody has ever replied. I don't know what to tell you ! *NM*
You would think that if someone here had used the plating service from Spotlight Hobbies, they’d want to share their experience with it. Then again, maybe it was a bad experience so they’re remaining silent. That’s what worries me. *NM*
Maybe whoever used the service isn't on the board much and never saw your requests for comments. *NM*
I would suggest trying the service for yourself and then posting your results here. Matt & Dawn have always treated their customers well (as did Tom before them), and IMHO Spotlight is one of the most trustworthy businesses in the hobby. Go for it! I look forward…
Most likely just felt it unnecessary to reply. *NM*
Why is that? I was asking a legit question and they felt it was “unnecessary” to reply? *NM*
I've seen the samples, and they look great. Kudos to Matt for digging up the service!
very kool, captured the vibe of yhat era *NM*
I hope that the big fire in New Jersey doesn't mess up NNL East this weekend. *NM*
The fire is about 100 miles south of Wayne, so there won't be an impact. *NM*
Straight Line Thursday......Throw Back Nationals
Never thought I'd be interested in Galaxie's '48 Aero Sedan, till I saw this..... *NM* *PIC*
Jim, you can find those custom taillight housings in the AMT 1953 Ford F-100 kits. *NM*
Yeah thanks, thought I remembered that. Realistically, this will never get built. Last fall, I got rid of 100 kits from my stash, and I probably still have 250 or so kits, projects, and ideas, and I am running out of time. *NM*
Jim, enjoy and just keep building! *NM*
Yes, and actually, my building pace has picked up the last 7 or so months. Today or tomorrow, I will complete my 4th build this year, but no, I don't take pics of my builds any more. *NM*
Looks like it would be in the little green tint hotrod mags! Cool! *NM*
Another AWB beauty from Frank.... This time a Fairlanecenter>! *PICS*
Very cool....diggin' the color! *NM*
Re: Another AWB beauty from Frank.... This time a Fairlanecenter>! *PICS* Pretty Kool Frank, I love what if stuff! *NM*
That dark gold is great and works well with the graphics. Nice! *NM*
Re: Very well done *NM*
Beautiful! *NM*
Thanks Marty for posting this for me. ****INSIDE****
Very nice work Frank! What color is that? *NM*
Totally unexpected on how it turned out...Wish I could post it but it's called Army Painter "Greedy Gold" It says the perfect primer HMMM! so I shot it then cleared it. I'm going to LHS to check if they other colors, when I bought this I didn't really pay attention. *NM*
Is it a spray bomb or for airbrush? I've found these online. Might be of interest to those willing to try something different. *NM* *PIC*
Oops, sorry. These are Warpaints, not Army Painter. The Warpaints do have a Greedy Gold color, though. *NM*
Immaculate BMF, Frank. *NM*
WOW!! *NM*
Fresh off of Frank's bench..... A pair of AWB Mopars.... *PICS*
Re: Fresh off of Frank's bench..... A pair of AWB Mopars.... *PICS* Both Awesome builds!
Frank keeps knocking them out of the park! *NM*
Sharp! Nice contrast between the two. *NM*
Those are both so cool. That engine picture is awesome, such nice wiring and details! *NM*
Thanks Marty for posting this for me. ****INSIDE****
Re looking good Frank *NM*
Two thumbs up Frank!! *NM*
Very nice ! I dig the custom instruments.. *NM*
They were also coded for pace car on the body tags, with a '500'. Looks like mpc left the lower door handle position alone until the tool was refabbed for the '87. *PIC*
Found a pic of a window price sheet ... *PIC*
So I'm working on the newly released Atlantis (Revell) '23 Ford pick-up dragster.....
Thanks Dave, I was hoping you might fill us in on how these things might (or might not) go together easily. *NM*
The engine assembly is pretty straight forward. Chassis and suspension is a different story. *NM*
The sub-assemblies (engine, chassis/suspension, body) should go together pretty smoothly. Bringing them together into a finished model will be the tougher part *NM*
Modern adhesives and tools help...
Ragtop....good that you mentioned the M/T Challenger, I recently built the original issue from 1962, a fiddly but joyful build, like all early Revell kits. *NM*
Hope you took precautions - with the tires
You've got me thinking.......I can't remember whether I painted the rims & tyres......its packed away as are all my builds at present due to kitchen & house reno's...........will have to check its condition...lol.n *NM*
Dave, I HAD TO REPLY TO YOUR POST!! You and a few others our age can appreciate the efforts of Jim Keeler and others who were responsible for the birth of much early tooling. Have fun with the Atlantis kits. *NM*
Having built a few models from the original Parts Packs though the years, I truly don't understand all of the whining, hand wringing, and gnashing of teeth that some folks are doing over these cool old kits....
WOW!! *NM*
Nice. Really good-looking custom. *NM*
Anyone here know of an aftermarket set of decals for Monogram's Red Baron? *NM*
Gooche did a lot of the older monogram/Tom Daniel stuff among others but it’s been five or six years since I’ve ordered from them so not sure if they’re still around. Terry/STS decals. I’m sure it could work up a set and his price and turnaround time is reasonable *NM*
Atlantis is about to reissue.....they sell their decals online. *NM*
Perfect--and thanks, everybody, for all the suggestions. *NM*
Perfection!!!! Love the entire concept, but your interior design really sends this build over the top!!!!
That is a really cool idea Marty! *NM*
Nice! I like it! *NM*
I have a question: does the Revell '30 Model A Coupe 2n1 kit come with fenders? *PIC*
No it does not. The wheelbase is stretched slightly in the engine area I believe. *NM*
Great kit though! *NM*
In a recent issue of Model Cars Magazine I show how to adapt fenders to the Revell '30A 5wc kit. It's pretty easy too. It's the issue with the '30A Gasser on the cover in the RH upper corner. Bet our host has this back issue for you to buy, too....TB *NM* *PIC*
65 Baracuda *PIC*
Nice save! Looks good *NM*
Re:Yes nice save *NM*
Re: 65 Barracuda Nice. Correct in that chassis is from 67. *NM*
Very cool. Well done! *NM*
Looks nice. Good job. *NM*
Nice job!! *NM*
Great work! Nice little resto project! *NM*
Re: 65 Baracuda Very Nice! on the subject of the rear window, would the glass from the Hemi Under Glass work as a replacement? *NM*
Nice work........even with the rear window I could happily live with that model,. *NM*
Nice save, really like that it is a leaning tower of power under the hood
Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I realy appreciate the compliments . I agree that there is a lot of joy in rescuing an old junk kit. It involves a different skill set than normal kit building. *NM*
I built one as a JR Stocker when it first came out......
here's the picture *NM* *PIC*
Cool idea! *NM*
The spray is a great option for parts that have putty in them owing to extensive repairs. It's another tool in the box *NM*
Don't forget "Pet Parade" ... a weekly on Saturdays from the local shelter .... or Sunday services from Our Lady of Tremendous Agony
Very cool! *NM*
"Value Conscious" is how we described this buyer class innaday ... *NM*
“Cheapskates” is another word that comes to mind. lol! *NM*
Cool! Thanks for keeping it sleek and simple without spotlights, etc. That paint is gorgeous! *NM*
Here's a Steve Stanford drawing of a '61 Galaxie Ranchero. Has anyone seen anything like this built in styrene? A bit out of my skill set. *PIC*
Don Holthaus had this body in resin, quite nice! *NM*
Am thinking I have one of those somewhere... *NM*
I love his art. *NM*
They turned up in period magazines from time to time back when it was a new kit *NM*
Thought Frank had posted a pic of one. *NM*
Steve Stanford was a great artist. Unfortunately he passed away several years ago I believe. *NM*
Re: I wanted the look of an early 60's Autorama show car.... yup. Nailed it. 👍😎 👍 *NM*
Beyond COOL!!! *NM*
I like the globe idea and the three pods above the steering column. The seats look cool and futuristic for a ‘50’s/‘60’s custom show car. Nice custom build! *NM*
