    • Chassis looks like a midsize GM piece. The Stude frame should look like the Avanti frame, minus the X-member which was used only for convertibles *NM*
      • Didn't Studebaker use the same basic frame from 1953 up to & including the last of the Lark variations. *NM*
        • Same frame and suspension. Even the '53 frames (for two series of cars) weren't all-new *NM*

  • my kudos to whoever did that two door sedan conversion of the Jo-Han '68 Plymouth Police Car. I've long thought of doing that two door conversion as a factory stock "Road Runner's Big Brother" Mopar Design Studio study/product proposal....TB *NM*

      • Also, it only mentions the dark blue Impalas, they also came in the white with red/blue stripping. The "special wheels" it mentions in that article are white painted 5 on 5 pickup rally wheels painted white with trim rings. *NM*
      • I was given one of the Novas (engine had a connecting rod hanging out the bottom of the oil pan) back in the early 80s... Unfortunately the guy didn't have the title for it and, after a couple of months of trying to chase one down, I just gave up.
      • I knew a guy who bought one of the Impalas brand new; he had it repainted right off the lot!

    • Reversed negative. It could happen with old "film" cameras. Or it happened digitally. Easy enough to correct with any simple photo editing software. *NM*

  • Not an expert, but on first glance that looks like a Satellite Sebring that had a Roadrunner hood and stripe added sometime during its life. *NM*

  • Yes the stripe with the 1/2 vinyl roof is 100% possible. The side/rocker moldings are from a Sport Satellite, as is the black or grey paint. So, this is a customized or modified car. Who knows after 54 years? *NM*

  • When I was fixing up my 1970 Dodge Coronet, the first time I went under the car to do some work on it, I saw that the driver side of the car had undercoating on it and there wasn't any undercoating on the passenger side. *NM*
  • All of the stories like this allow me to step back and take a pause if I find myself getting too ‘rivet county’… I remind myself that very few details are objectively incorrect, as there can be variations from factory to factory, or even associate to associate.

• I’ve seen the movie a few times. I’ve seen the chase scene many more. I’m not a movie critic, but I liked it. The chase scene, with its sights and sounds, phenomenal. Even with the five hubcaps, the tri-five with the magical quarter panel that pops
  • It is still the best - it serves the plot (such as it is) well
• I think the AMT 32 Ford sedan will appeal mostly to the nostalgia market. It's really not that great a kit. My 2 cents *NM*
