    • Sure, they got rid of it becuse it was in the girls way. These photos were often airbrushed/retouched. Like we "photoshop" these days. *NM*

    • You could only get a Hemi in the R/T version, which this car is not. All Hemi cars got F70x15 redline tires with "cast aluminum road wheels" (recall wheels?) And, if it's not a R/T-Hemi it didn't get the door badge. *NM*
      • Base wheel for Hemi Charger was the 15” steelie with dog dish cap. *NM*
        • The '69 Charger sales brochures says it's the "recall" aluminum wheels. Of course that brochure was probably printed in the Summer of '68. I agree, the steelies ended up being standard on the Hemis. *NM*

• Easy-Off have a shelf life? Used an old can, didn't strip very much--I'd already tried ELO, Castrol purple pond, & 91% alcohol on Splash Paints light grey surfacer. *NM*
  • The only thing that happens to old Easy-Off is that the cans leak eventually. I have never noticed a lack of stripping power though. *NM*

  • They both look nice to me! When I had my ‘70 Coronet, it had those wheel covers intially, but I soon replaced them with a set of rallye wheels, just like you did on your model. IMHO the rallyes were perhaps the nicest selection available for 1970. *PIC*

• Does an IPMS model show consist of more than just cars ? ie: cars, planes, ships, military, etc ? *NM*
  • Hi Scott, to the best of my knowlwdge cars are kind of a newer subject in IPMS contests but they are getting bigger all the time. I believe IPMS shows were primarily started for modelers of non-automotive subjects but fortunately that is not the case anymore...
  • Most have dedicated model car judges now. In the past that wasn't always the case......
  • To get an idea of how an IPMS style model show views cars & automotive subjects here in Oz if the term "Civilian Vehicles" is used then I have a pretty good idea of the shows judging slant....not always true but usually a good indication.... unfortuneately. *NM*
  • Scott, The past few years at the IPMS contest in Liebanon IN, close to half the entries have been in the automotive classes.They have actively sought juidges who are auto modelers. *NM*

    • Speaking of the 68 Cuda, is it safe to assume MPC updated it to the 69 as the annual and was a one year only issue? Sure wish Round2 would back date it to the 68 only Hemi version. I know there is a resin conversion out there, but I'd prefer Styrene.
      • The Seventies issues all had the Super Stock Hemi setup, body had '69 hood/grille/taillights but '68 side markers. Ertl changed it to the '69 383 later *NM*
        • I’d love to see a cloned ‘68 Barracuda Formula S though. They could use the Demon/Duster chassis as it’s the same wheelbase.

• Several years ago I built 2 models of the 1970 Coronet that I used to own. The way it came from the factory and what I turned it into. I wasn't happy with the factory version because I used white primer and the body came out pink. I just redid the factory ..... *PICS* .....
