  • I did several of those flairs on a car I built , and they are very difficult to get correct. Buying pre-flared lines would be my choice Maybe a more expensive way to go, but saves a lot of frustration. *NM*
    • Pre made SS lines would be less than $100.....just need a good bender....... *NM*
  • If you can get pre made lines you are better off as long as you can get the right lengths. I would always use string and / or a coat hanger to figure out the routing - then measure the length to get the closest size. I am an ASE Certified Master Technician with 30+ years...

  • It's all about the tool. You need a GOOD double flare tool. Harbor Fright will not do it. Get one made by Lisle, Ridgid, or Snap-On. I bought a lot of Snap-On stuff 20-30 years ago and it's usually worth the money. Also, do not try to flare S/S hard lines. The material is

      • Some good flaring tools might be $75 or so. Yeah, I'm sure the Snap-On one is a lot more. All depends on how much you plan on using it. I used mine a lot, and I just had to make a couple lines for my Dart a couple years ago and it still works great. *NM*
  • Both ends will need the flare, and not sure where you get a premade for a custom build...
