Alternate choice for engine that might work: '70 Trans Am in 1/24 from RM

Out in current release, now.

Engine was retooled along with the body from the early kit, much better than the "Blackbird" IMO.

My guess with the RAV - perhaps doing a version of the "Royal Bobcat" '69, a local car to the Detroit area for several years. Guessing, the kit sold well enough not to need it, or, working through Wangers and licensing/rights was a juice-to-squeeze ratio loser.

Pretty fierce engine when properly tuned and geared. Sadly, in the early 80s in the 1:1 world, Pontiac reportedly scrapped out remaining crated RAV 400s that were gathering dust in a corner of the GM Parts warehouse not far from the main campus on Joslyn Ave in Pontiac.

Speculating, but my hunch is there was a 'get that old stuff out of here' scrap drive under new leadership... "we are the exciting 4-cylinder company now!" was a mantra for years, invariably followed by ritual recitation of the mission statement.

Sic Gloria Tempest...
