            • My first thought for a stepside bed was the AMT '53. I have many because the '53 is one of my favorite kits. *NM*
              • Trucks burst back on the scene about the time that cars went "plop" - Ford and Chevy were quick to exploit
            • Along about 1973, when the rear axle grew wider by four inches, Ford realized that the flareside box they'd used since '53 was now too narrow. Therefore no flareside box was offered til '76, when someone came up with the idea of shortening the wider 8' box. More info... *NM* *LINK*

        • Upon googling it, I see examples with two different hoods....so who knows? *NM*
