  • I have a "mental block" when it comes to those teardrop scoops... I can only see them being used on '63 Fords on up... *NM*
    • No most make that mistake but at least in this part of the world teardrops were put on almost anything... Ford brought it to the forefront because at the time what else did you have other than a Pro Stock snorkel. **INSIDE**

          • Yes best known for Ford models but after they made the rounds I'm not so sure it was exclusive to only Ford's as above pictures show. I can't remember the guys name (Lived across town and he hung out with a different crowd) The guy I'm thinkg about had one on his 66 Chevelle *NM*

            • Back when I was a highschool freshman, I had an older buddy from the next town over, who had a '56 Chevy sedan, that had a teardrop scoop. It was an old drag car (gasser), with a full glass tilt front that had the scoop molded in by the maker....

      • I remember seeing a 65-66 Red Notchback Mustang with a teardrop hood in my neighborhood around '68. Sounded good but I never saw under the hood. *NM*

    • I'd have reservations about how those would work as a scoop. The original Ford application uses them as blisters; the holes at the back are there to vent hot air. The intakes were in the grille *NM*
