ON THE BENCH...Moving my 66 BUICK GS forward, finally got my teardrop and nail head for the build. Up on wheels and actually ready to paint. Hope I can do it tonight.PIX and thanks for looking

Cyclone is ready for assembly.... I looks so good, probably in the next few days I should have it buttoned up. I was giving the enamel several days to gas out. Thanks *NM*

No most make that mistake but at least in this part of the world teardrops were put on almost anything... Ford brought it to the forefront because at the time what else did you have other than a Pro Stock snorkel. **INSIDE**

Yes best known for Ford models but after they made the rounds I'm not so sure it was exclusive to only Ford's as above pictures show. I can't remember the guys name (Lived across town and he hung out with a different crowd) The guy I'm thinkg about had one on his 66 Chevelle *NM*
From above post: He was older than I was but not by much... I always remember him thumping thru the drive in looking for a race. I say older because he appeared to have money to spend. A few unsuspecting souls would go out after him only to come back with hurt feeling. *NM*
Back when I was a highschool freshman, I had an older buddy from the next town over, who had a '56 Chevy sedan, that had a teardrop scoop. It was an old drag car (gasser), with a full glass tilt front that had the scoop molded in by the maker....
Another example... One of my local favorites from the 70's... Mike Peppers shorty 56 Chevy Wagon... *PIC*
I remember seeing a 65-66 Red Notchback Mustang with a teardrop hood in my neighborhood around '68. Sounded good but I never saw under the hood. *NM*

I'd have reservations about how those would work as a scoop. The original Ford application uses them as blisters; the holes at the back are there to vent hot air. The intakes were in the grille *NM*
That's what the plan is but coming up with the hosing may be a challenge , but I will give it thee old college try. *NM*
