No most make that mistake but at least in this part of the world teardrops were put on almost anything... Ford brought it to the forefront because at the time what else did you have other than a Pro Stock snorkel. **INSIDE**

but back then I never saw a cowl on anything but a "Z" or L88 hood on a Corvette, I take that back a 71 Nova was running around here with one, that car had flares on it as well. Didn't look half bad but those flares only lasted a summer and went back to the body shop that winter.
Yes you are right teardrops are mostly known for Ford's but they introduced them. Now you see cowl hood on almost anything.
