  • Some older AMT kits have scissor jacks as custom display pieces. YOu can make a handlee using Evergreen. *NM*
• WARLOCK QUESTION: What year is this? Box & instructions don't say. Need source for stock wheels and standard box--want to do a stock build (or as close as I can get to one). *NM*

  • The '78 Dodge D-100 kit has the standard box and stock wheels. Suspension parts from the Warlock pop right in. *NM*

      • The Jo-Han '59 Oldsmobile had that roof, but those aren't exactly falling out of the trees *NM*
        • I have a resin copy of that, I think it's a "Vic's Resin" but not sure. It was cheap though. *NM*
        • If I'm remembering correctly, at some point The Modelhaus once offered that roof for use on conversions and restorations.... Of course that would fall into the realm of unobtainium as well. *NM*

  • Flat top in progress. Roof came from an ebay resin 60 Impala. Everything was warped beyond repair except for the roof.

    • Mercury dealers in Canada sold Mercury trucks...Fords with different trim and tailgates. '68 may have been the final year IIRC *NM*
      • Yes, following the auto pact of 1965, most of the unique Canadian models gradually disappeared. 1968 was the last year for Mercury badged trucks. *LINK* *PIC*
        • They made bigger trucks too. The village of Ayers Cliff, QC had a 3 ton or so Mercury Thibault fire engine and Sillery, QC had a Ford C based Mercury Thibault 85’ mid mount ladder. I have other examples. *NM*
          • Bill Stroppe (built early Sixties NASCAR Mercs, and later Baja Broncos) had a Mercury cabover to haul the stock cars. I saw it, restored, at Fords at Carlisle a couple of years ago *NM*

  • Now I know its a different co. & all but if ever AMT{Polar Lights) decides to reissue the 2004/2005 Pontiac GTO a RHD dash & rejiged grille to make a Holden Monaro would make me a happy camper........and pigs will fly........lol....the Merc pickup looks good BTW. *NM*

      • There was a resin conversion to do the Holden Monaro SEDAN years ago! I've got one, from sa friend in the Houston Auto Modelers SOciety. The resin used to make the tires turned into a liquified goo, though.
        • That resin kit with the problem tyres was a cavalier kit, I sold many thru the shop, the tyre problem didn't happen till a few years later & no one was more angrier than me I assure you. *NM*
      • Oh there were both resin front/rear clips & RHD dashes as well as complete body shells but PL when I rang them at kits announcement were unaware that the GTO was Oz made & said it was too late to incl even a RHD dash...oh well....lol. *NM*

    • MAD resin has done the tailgates, side emblems and front valance for the '65/'66 Mercs; the tailgates will also work for the '67/'68 trucks. Grills are the same as Fords for all sixties Mercs. Rookie Resin made an improved '67-'69 grill. *NM*

• You’re welcome! On a side note, a japanere company called Asuka used to make a beautifull set of multi-piece Torque Thrust wheels. Several sets of wheel lips in different widths are included, allowing you to adjust the depth of each wheel. *NM*

  • The turbos are boosts for the current gas powered smaller cars that use gas, of course, but that is a separate branch of newer generation "hot rods", mainly Asian model brands. I do not know if there is such a thing as turbos for hybrids yet. ;^) *NM*

• I had the Revell "Veney's Vega" kit when it first came out and I was maybe 10 at the time and was overwhelmed with the detail. That would be a kit I wouldn't mind getting again and trying my hand at it, using my 40 extra years of experience. :) *NM*

    • The 80's Connoisseur Classic fenders do not have the wells already in place.... They are scored on the underside for removal and the wells themselves are separate pieces. *PIC*
