We were in Indianapolis at Lil' Ragtop I 's place... got the full picture
In Response To: Eclipse images ()

Very interesting place, too - their home is in a gentrifying part of Indy a few miles from downtown (College / 25th, for natives.)

They have large deck built atop their garage - probably 25' square - that gave a completely unobstructed view of the show, slap in the middle of the arc of totality.

I'd never seen a true, full eclipse before so this really got my attention. As the light began to dim, you could see the photo sensing outdoor lighting start to pop on. As it got fully dark, there were no more bird songs or other sounds, just a very eerie stillness.

From our vantage point, when it was safe to look straight at the eclipse, we could see a small red dot that was at roughly the six-oclock position, which turned out to be a solar flare that is not typically visible.
