Chroming Fiasco

Just got six racks of parts back from a plating service and they all look bad. It may be hard to see in pictures, but they're all dull, like they have a coat of semi-gloss clear on them. One rack has a brown/bronze cast to it (second picture), and most have kind of an iridescent "rainbow" effect when you tilt them in the light (third picture). Looks like bad MPC chrome from the early 80's. Not going to mention the service because I'm not looking to trash anyone, but I know it's one many of you have used. Have any of you experienced this kind of thing with a chrome service? I used to use the now defunct Chrome Tech, and the results were consistently very good. At least I can see that the filling and sanding that I did on some of the parts looks good. If you'll excuse me, I have a lot of stripping/remounting to do.
