1966 is the official start of corporate blue for all Ford engines

In the day, engine color was how they separated different, but visually identical engines from each other when used in the same Ford assembly plant.

I'm sure there must be an online reference to all the colors of Edsel, Thunderbird, Ford, Truck, etc.

To the point, though, it would be just as much of a hassle to keep the many colors and components straight as engines began to proliferate through the lineup.
