There was some talk on another forum about the potential for Round 2 to do their magic on the '71/'72 Plymouth Road Runner tooling. Just wondering if other board participants would like to see that one come back. (Steve G. seemed to show some interest in that thread...) *PIC*
Um, yea. *NM* *PIC*
They make it....I buy it...... *NM*
Curious why they would have to redo the kit? Was it modified into something else? *NM*
I have no way of knowing the status of the tooling, but the last time it was reissued was sometime in the 1980s. IIRC it was announced to be released again sometime in the 2000s but it never happened... so maybe there was an issue with the tooling? *NM*
Some of it (interior) was reworked when RC2 brought back the '74. Should have left the '71 alone IMO *NM*
From what I've been told. They cannot locate the tool. *NM*
They can always 3d scan an existing old kit or promo to make the tooling. *NM*
Clone that is. *NM*
If it makes sent for them, I'm all for it. I'd be neat to see a '72, but the '71 might make more sense sales-wise. Question is, with Revell's 71 GTX, is there market space for another '71? *NM*
Yes - because the old Monogram/Revell kit leaves a lot to be desired. *NM*
I’d love either one but the ‘72 is my birth year lol…. I’d be happy with a Craftsman style kit . *NM*
Yes! The way they seem to be doing now, re-tooling the body with corrections, the interior in platform style, the headlights in clear, separate hood but no engine, that's fine with me! *NM*
YES YES YES!!! *NM*
Me 3 *NM*
I'd be curious to see what happens -
My question is, would they roll it out as a Craftsman Series kit or a full kit? *NM*
Wouldn’t matter to me. I’d take either one. *NM*
There's a chance Round2 could use the DoH license with the '71. As Daisy first used a '71 that met it's untimely demise as Bo and Luke crashed her car. *NM*
