More correct, still not as good as the annual. I've got enough of the latter, people were dumping nice ones after the new kit came out *NM*

Are the AMT 1965 and 1955 Galaxie 500 basically the same kit? Just minor differences? *NM*
Sorry I mean 1965 and 1966 *NM*
Two different molds….for the body at least. *NM*
Entirely different kits, though engines are similar. '65 has opening trunk and poseable steering, '66 has neither *NM*
Thank you ! I know the AMT Fairlane (GTA and 427 one) those are different but I wasn't sure about the Galaxies. :-) *NM*
The two Fairlanes have a bunch of different parts in the two versions, but the main parts in those (body, chassis, suspension) are the same in both *NM*
Good to know. I thought they were identical until I updated the radiator core on the 427 car *PIC*
Bruce...I think they are referring to the 1990's 67 Fairlane/Mercury kits...your pic I think shows the Dyno Don Comet(which I recently built) or similar I think.......I could be wrong tho'.....my 1990's AMT 427 67 Fairlane uses a straight non "promo" radiator panel. *NM*
The one pictured looks like the altered wheelbase Falcon...totally different thing *NM*
hmm here it is installed in the Fairlane *NM* *PIC*
Ok now I'm officially confused LOL *PIC*

My first car was a '67 GT - black over candyapple red, just like the ad car in '67 (looking at it now, in fact)
AMT '65 Galaxie and '65 Impala were really the first kits to incorporate Trophy Kit level detail in annual releases
I love the 65 Galaxie, one of my favorite kits. Build this one in about 1973, painted with Tempo tahoe turquoise touch up paint. *PIC*
I built this one eons ago. I don't think I cut out the floorboards. Was there a different version that looked like this? *NM* *PIC*
Here's the topside. *NM* *PIC*
Bill, didn’t you have the 1:1 version of this? *NM*
Yes! *NM*
Could be a '67 or '68 chassis, or perhaps '67-'69 Thunderbird *NM*
My thought, too - but I'm not recalling steerable fronts in the Galaxies... maybe the '69 T-Bird annual (before the FC?)
Nope, that generation Thunderbird did have separate uprights but the steering arms were attached to the lower suspension arms. You "could" make them poseable with a bit of work but it's not how it came in the kit. *NM*
I just looked at the '65 model I built vs a new '65 kit. Looks like I DID cut up that chassis in order to remove the molded-in exhaust system. Could have done a better job on replicating the floorboards, but it was around 1980 when I built it. *NM*
Might be '65 up front, it's something else from the firewall back. '65 kit has separate fuel tank, and the trunk floor was a separate piece too *NM*
The annual 69 Tbird did have separate uprights (kingpins) that were to be glued in place. They could be glued to a "posed" position, which I did on the one I built a couple of years ago; just had to get the front wheels reasonably parallel. *PICS*
I can't tell you what I did 40+ years ago. I guess I'm lucky the model survived all these years! *NM*
