Here's a trip down to the Pima Air Museum in 2011. Shot a bunch of photos of the different ground support and fire vehicles there besides the planes. *LINK* *PIC*
Wayne, I'm the B-36 "nut". Andyd is looking for the Monogram kit of "same" for this old geezer. *NM*
I've been in a B-36,,,,,,,,,,
I still remember hearing a B36 while I was eating breakfast, and as I ran out the front door, I hollered at my mother, "B36"!!! Then I watched 'til it was out of sight. Loved the"sound" it made! *NM*
I'd trade you my crawl through for your seeing one fly!!!!! *PIC*
I've seen many fly, and many types of USAF planes fly. Grew up in Tucson. and in the flight path of Davis-Monthan air base, where old USAF planes went to die. *NM*
My father in law was a USAF flight mechanic 1942 until 1978. It's where I got interested in planes.
Dave, that wasn't the only time. Apparently, their "flight pattern" (east/west) was almost directly above my parent's house! *NM*
I've also made that trip, aft to fwd...If you don't use the little "trolley", it's a long trip. *NM*
Wonder if that's the B-36 once called 'City of Fort Worth', that was restored by many Lockheed/Fort Worth employees...
Before that, it was displayed outside along 341 with other planes. They were pretty weathered. Similar to the planes outside at the Pate Museum back then. *NM*
Yes it is. Sounds like the Orange County deal with Cunningham Museum years ago. He was going to donate it to the county for some tax breaks and after a year or so Miles Collier said to heck with and bought the collection off of Briggs. *NM*
Thanks Dave............I really needed you to let on that you've been in a B-36....just for that I'm gunna tell you that I saw one of the few RHD Oz assembled Rambler Matador X Coupes yesterday, red with a white Starsky & Hutch side flash...........nah,nah.....lol. *NM*
