I have a couple of AMT '68 Mustang (built-ups), and a couple of "68 Shelbys. I ought to build one of the regular Mustangs. *NM*

Correct on both counts. The AMT '68 was reworked into the '68 Shelby GT500 (AMT ad showed a '67 but the kit was always a '68) *NM*

AMT 1968 MUSTANG GT 2+2 question....As far as I know it was only issued once than at some point it was retooled as the '68 Shelby or '67 GT. Am I wrong ?? I also know that MPC also did a 1968 Mustang as well ("Trigger" comes to mind). I guess I am just trying to refresh.....

I build a lot of Mustangs so I am not sure. When checking in Bill Coulter's book --- *PIC*
The drasticplastic instruction sheet collection is a great place to research this stuff. AMT changed their Mustang chassis to full detail for 67/68 and the '68 Shelby is the successor of that foundation. *PIC*
Maybe this is why the 67 and 68 sit to high in the front. ---
The '67 kits with the seprate trunk lids are a completely different tool from the original annual. Those were first made in the late '90s or so, not related at all to the originals. *NM*
