they only mention the original 1967 kit "was likely worn out or forever changed into a non-stock configuration". But they don't say what that might have been or have a picture.

Later AMT made the1967 Mustang, the "new" one we are all familiar with - which they say " is not related to the original AMT annual kit".

The do say the 1968 Shelby kit came out in 1968 so that probably is the 1967 kit as others mention .

The book has one picture of the MPC 1968 Mustang. , the Trigger one you mention. But don't really give you any information on that specific kit. though. (I wonder why that kit has never been reissued?)
