Having lived in Odessa, Texas (30 or so miles west of Midland) for nine months,it is "a little out of the way" fo MOST people.

I lived out there back in 2012. Public engineering firm "needed" another draftsman. I was let go because I somehow didn't fit what they wanted, after six months.

Back then, the HQ for the Commemorative Air Force was still out between the two cities, but the CAF relocated to south Dallas a few years ago. Even they realized more people would visit them if they weren't located in the middle of nowhere.

Saw the Chaparrals at the Petroleum Museum while I was out there. Neat stuff.
