The biggest issue I had with them relates to the original post, the offset of the front wheels was way too deep.

in the 1:1 world...I don't know if it was ever anything more than old wives tales, but I remember always hearing that you should always use zero off set wheels on the front to prevent excessive ball joint wear. But then people used to believe that going out in the cold with wet hair caused common colds too.... since proven that it only makes for icy hair.
