Spotlight Hobbies

Ooof.... another one lost. But I get it. Dale served the hobby with distinction, he earned the time off

Depending on what state you are in, dealing with all the issues related to the work including emissions, worker safety, utilities and costs, etc can be brutal.

To an earlier point, there is a war against VOC's - volatile organic compounds - which has pretty well wiped out the lacquer business. Clear under- and over-coats are no longer the same as we were accustomed to even 20 years ago. The finishes are noticably thicker and soak up fine engraving and detail.

Maybe someone will figure this out, but, with all the permitting and other overhead that comes with a coating operation, I don't know how you do it other than a bootleg deal.

Dale, thanks for putting a shine on the hobby for us!
