Spray chrome, while greatly uselful, cannot replace plating for bumpers and grilles. In my opinion. *NM*

I’d be interested in that myself. I’m off for six months every year. But would it really be profitable with all the spray chrome available ? *NM*

Little Motor Kar Co. closing message...*PIC*...
Sad day indeed. *NM*
I'd like to know what it would take to start up a new plastic plating service. *NM*
Contact Dale. I'm sure he could suggest what it would take. *NM*
There's several harsh chemicals in chrome plating I believe - - *LINK*
Plastic "chrome plating" is actually vacuum metallizing. Different processes altogether *NM*
Far as I know, the main ingredients for "our" kind of chrome, are aluminum, and lacquer paints that are not especially hazardous. *NM*
The process used on most "chromed" plastic kit parts is vacuum metalizing *LINK*

If you took on plastic interior parts for 1:1 cars, that would be your main income *NM*
No, they normally use "real" chome on real car parts. The model car stuff is far to fragile. *NM*
Chrome-Tech subbed his metallizing to a company doing 1:1 car parts *NM*

I have not used these new spray chromes but I used Molotow pens on the Revell Opel Admiral bumpers, grille & other bits 2yrs ago & very impressed with the finish, enough that it has fooled a few at a couple of shows. *NM*
It would be great if Round 2 or a major model company could offer this service. *NM*
Biggest problem with that is that it's all in China now. Atlantis or JR Salvino's are the only ones doing stuff in the U.S. now. Or am I missing something? *NM*
If someone wanted to get into it, contacting Dale would be the logical first step. He'd know about equipment and supplies (cost, where to get, and so on) *NM*
Ooof.... another one lost. But I get it. Dale served the hobby with distinction, he earned the time off
Another one? He was the last one. Say goodbye to getting your parts replated. Now, it’ll have to be the Revell Chrom spray for best results. *NM*
The cost probably just went up on Revell Chrom with this announcement! : ) *NM*
I left the E off too, thought you knew something I didn't! *NM*
Nope, the more I think I know something the more I realize what I don’t know. I wish they made a DIY vacuum plating kit. $1k-2k for the initial investment is a lot more palatable than the $10k+ some here have suggested, *NM*
Chrome-+... A looooong time ago a modeler friend was visiting, this was pre-internet days and he already had started a mail order business that was quite profitable... Every month he posted in the Scale Auto Enthusiasts want ads as both a seller and a buyer...
Based on what I’ve heard over the years before I moved to the Canadian Maritimes, Chrome + is long gone and never to return. Louis Bernier. *NM*
John I think most of us knew that Chrome-+ was long gone... Just wanted to relate my recollection of the events that led up to Chrome-+... *NM*
I used them a couple of times. Heck, I used them all: Herb Jackson, Chrome+, Chrome-Tech, and LMK *NM*
Louis was the best at Chrome + there were others that were quite good but none better
Chrome-Tech for me, I had thousands of parts done by them. Fast turnaround, great quality *NM*
Herb Jackson... There's a name I haven't heard in a while... When going to Toledo with Larry Read we'd always stop in to see Herb... *NM*
