• New Demon vs. AMT Duster......
  • I’m not “up” on the two kits, why using the duster parts, is it a newer tool and the demon a Re popped? Was thinking the demon was all new and thus likely better detailed chassis etc? *NM*
    • Because it is an old MPC kit with minor updates. Engine, chassis, etc... is typical primitive MPC stuff from 50+ years ago. The AMT Duster is 100% state of the art tooling. *NM*
      • This is what I can't understand,wouldn't it have been better to use the Duster tooling,apart from the body as the basis for the Demon? both cars use the same basis underpinings, but I'm no expert, neither were sold here, we got the our updated Valiant instead. *NM*
        • Round2 does a careful cost analysis on every project and they take whichever road makes the most sense financially. At least when they redo these kits they do make key improvements that make them look better sitting on the shelf (separate headlights, etc) *NM*
          • Which I would expect, those guys obviously know what they are doing, it just , at least on the surface of it would have seemed easier to start with the Duster tooling, but the main thing is that we still get plastic kits. *NM*
    • Even though the Demon is a much newer tool, It's made like an early '70's MPC kit. Not as many parts as the Duster kit. *NM*
  • This is what I’m doing; taking the frame frame the Duster and putting it in the Demon. It’s not that hard to swap the fender wells from the duster to the demon, one of the easiest things to do. Plus you get the more accurate engine , interior, and running gear. If you ar

    • The side windows and thin B-pillar are more accurate on the Duster kit as well. On the Demon body, the pillar is too straight with no curve or tumble like it is on the Duster kit. *NM*
