Some I used to go to, threw in the towel years ago, because they thought that most of their customers would rather go to Barnes & Noble stores for their magazine fix. Other newsstands carried more...'adult' stuff, and were caught out when the "mainstream" mens. magazines 'consolidated' to one or two publishers ten or so years ago, and the bottom dropped out (the level of "quality" went down a notch or two, or more, to boot). I knew of one newsstand that went to USED car mags (old C/Ds, R&Ts, HRMs...) to supplant the old 'mens magazines they already carried, but they guy closed the store when I wasn't "looking").
