Rommel's Rod...*PICS*

I have always been a fan of Monogram's Tom Daniel series of kits. I know that they're mostly cartoons, but they're fun to build.

Back in the old days, a bunch of the local guys were into Tamiya 1/12 scale kits and they made fun of those of us who liked 1/25 and 1/24 scale. Eventually, Andy Kallen and I found our way to Salt Lake City and met a whole lot of kindred spirits.

These days I really don't care what people like or don't like. So once in a while, I enjoy putting together a TD kit. When Revell/Monogram announced a new, retooled kit of the long-lost Rommel's Rod, I got one. It was just as much fun as I remember.

To get this guy's arms to fit, I had to put him first without his arms. Then I fiddled with his arms and hands until I got them into position. There's not a lot of surface to glue parts together. It was, um, a challenge.

Fun to do using some of the weathering techniques I've learned watching Plasmo on YouTube.
