• Question: I really like the AMT 62 Pontiac and 60 Starliner that were tooled in the early 2000s. I've built several of each. Did AMT tool any other kits around that same time with the same level of detail? I'm looking for new inspiration. Thanks *NM*

    • Thanks, I built the T Bird when it first came out and did the Impala last years so it looks like the Olds is it. I had a basic 67 Cutlass and always liked that body style so I think I am inspired. Thanks again. *NM*
      • There is a '67 Cutlass 442 Lindberg kit out there if you want to do a replica. It has the different grille/headlights, taillights and side trim configurations. I do not know how compatible the AMT '66 kits would be with it for the chassis and engine. Anyone done that? See *NM* *PIC*
        • I wouldn't bother swapping the chassis. The '67 442 chassis is almost a clone of the AMT '66 Chevelle kit and real close to the '66 442 too. Not worth the effort and nothing to be gained. *NM*
          • That should say a copy of the AMT '67 Chevelle chassis. *NM*
            • AMT '67 Chevelle (stock) is an excellent, overlooked kit IMO, probably the best donor for an annual kit A-Body GM
        • My 67 was a 4 dr and I would build one if there was a kit out there but I'm not interested in doing all the conversion work. I'd be happy with any version of a 66 or 67.. *NM*
      • AMT just recently reissued the 67 442 that was originally the Lindberg kit. Matt and Dawn have them in stock. *NM*

          • Bill as far as I can tell it's a straight reissue. It has some nice detail but parts fit is a bit fiddly and the wheelbase is off just a bit. Here's one I just finished a few weeks ago.

            • Maybe after the '67 hardtop and '67 post a '67 convertible by kit bashing one with the '66 convertible for the '67 442 set? Maybe even add a '67 Hurst Hairy Olds? Sorry, but I had to ask. LOL! *NM*
              • Ha, sure! I think I do have the HHO kit too. It's been quite an Oldsmobile year for me - I've built five '64 kits, two converts, two ht's and one land speed racer.. *NM*

  • There were a bunch of modern tool "Mueller era" kits, '41 Ford Woody, '55-57 Chevy Pickups, 57 Chevy Belair, 57 Chrysler 300, '58 Belvedere, '60 Chevy Pickup, '62 Bel Air and Impala, "66 Riviera, '70 1/2 Camaro and I'm probably forgetting some others. *NM*
    • '71 Duster 340 and the '71 Charger R/T are two more. *NM*
      • Didn't see the Edsel mentioned, but it's in there. To me, the 300-C is the real standout - it builds up beautifully
        • Right, the '58 Edsel and so are the '66 Nova, Fairlane and '67 Cyclone. *NM*
