  • Man, that’s a situation that begs for a decal , way too fine lines to be able to paint cleanly , the make thin line decals n varying widths , maybe look for some red or orange ones and hand lay line by line? *NM*

    • Maybe, but I don't have an ALPS printer, I'm not sure I could ever get a decal to lay that straight even if I did.......

  • Already scribed? Maybe Tamiya Panel Line Accent in Brown or Gray. You might have to (carefully!) scribe them a little deeper. *NM*
  • Yeah, problem is the lines are ribbed not scribed. That's why my first thought was to rub a pencil or marker over the ribs, but no such luck.. *NM*
    • Might lay a strip of clear 2" packing tape over it and trace the lines and edges of the piece as best you can, then peal it off and put it on a piece of white paper, then overlay that with a sheet of clear or tracing paper and with a very fine point drafting pen, straight
  • Nope. Stuff like this is better left as-molded. It's so tiny, whether you paint it or not it won't be too noticeable. And if you try to paint it and mess it up, it'll stick out like a sore thumb. *NM*
    • Pretty much the conclusion I've come to, It's just not worth all that work. Especially on an 80's era Monogram kit. Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible kit, it's just quite soft on details. *NM*
  • 1/64" vinyl tape and a lot of patience, perhaps? *NM*
  • There are fingernail art brushes that could easily do a line that narrow, especially if you masked off the lines. No different than scale pinstriping *NM*
  • I would would just leave the kit's lines as-is. Think about it.
