    • I've been doing some 50s vehicles where the outer edge of the rim (that should be wheel color) is molded into the hubcap. The decanted aersol paint is too thin to paint over the plating *NM*
      • In any case, I would mask what you are trying to save with BMF *NM*
      • My suggestion would be to scrape the chrome off the outer edge. I would think masking to use chemical removal would be risky because of seepage. *NM*
        • I do this. Scribe a line completely through the chrome between the rim and the cap. Scrape/sand chrome off the rim top AND side, paint rim--scribed line creates a burr/damn keeping paint off chrome cap. Tedious, yes, but really pops. *NM*

      • Or you could go the other way and strip the whole wheel cover.....
