I don't know what kind of contests you guys have been encountering, but the ones we run are simple.

"Curbside" means we don't judge the engines, interiors, chassis, or beds. If it cannot be seen from a tabletop view, it doesn't matter. In fact, our judges are prohibited from considering those things. Drives some of our competitors nuts when they enter a convertible with an average body, ordinary paint, and reasonably good finish but a killer super-detailed interior. Sorry, Charlie, but your interior means nothing in Curbside class.

Same with a detailed engine. Some guys think they're pretty sly in entering a super detailed hot rod in Curbside. But we ignore the candy between the radiator and the firewall. Sorry.

If you want those killer engines and interiors to count, to be judged, you gotta enter in the big-boys classes.

We get a ton of really superb entries in our Curbside class and it can be one of the most hotly contested ones on the table. But everyone gets a fair and even shake -- no advantages to rule-bending.
