I think the question you have to as yourself is do you want your MODEL to be 100% mechanically accurate or do you want it to look cool? *NM*

Agreed. And Hilborn's website says that maybe 2% of their customers were able to run the mechanical injection on the street. *NM*

On those Buick Nailhead engines with the fuel injection, in the new-ish Revell Model A kits, what /where is the fuel pump? Surely they did not run the stock fuel pump, which is all the kits offer. *NM*
Would FI use electric pump mounted near the tank? Just a guess. *NM*
Yes if it were EFI, but this is old school injection. (probably Hilborn) I looked for pictures but all I could find were dragsters with the pump mounted where the water pump is usually. *NM*
There have been conversions of the older style injectors to EFI, mainly for looks. Not sure how well they function, but it is done *NM*
Why couldn't it use an electric fuel pump? *NM*
Not sure if electric fuel pumps were used in the '60s. You would usually see a mechanical pump driven off the camshaft. On a car with a water pump in front, and a typical flywheel/clutch on the back, you can't do that. I'll keep looking for some pictures. *PIC*
Stewart-Warner, Bendix and a few others sold electric pumps in the '50s and '60s. I could see a front driven mechanical pump on a drag car but I'd think an electric in line pump would be more practical for a street driven car. Buick used in-tank electric ones in late '60s.
Those injectors weren't often run on the streets back then, they were constant flow...
OK. So, what would you suggest, Mark? *NM*
Probably an electric pump, most of those can pump out way more than any carb setup uses *NM*
Most constant flow systems had a by-pass to regulate fuel flow and return unused fuel to the tank

Like many things in life: "I'm not sure how this works, but it will be fun to try..."
I had to do a search to see what the injection looks like. It's a Hilborn unit on the kit? *NM*
I'd say so. You can't put a fuel pump in the usual location (on timing cover) due to the water pump. *NM*
Does this help?
I have seen them run off a angle drive on the distributor *NM*
Yes, that is an option. But, probably wouldn't fit on a Model A due to the firewall. *NM*
Hilborn had a v-belt driven fuel pump available... *LINK*
