I think it will be around for a while. This way Round2 Can get kits into the hands of builders who want the kit, and release a Full Detail version later. This May (or May Not) be a coming feature of SOME new kits. The '63 Chevy Wagon is one example. MOst of the new kits have an opening hood, so I'm kool with what they are doing.
And Most of us, have a stash of either unbuilt or started engines to work with. And If not, I know others are usually generous in helping somebody find an engine they want. I've got 2 One Gallon Zip-lok bags full of engines and parts.
