Source for rods: Try McMaster-Carr. *NM*

In 1/25 scale 1 millimeter is about equal to one inch. So anywhere from 1.5mm to 3mm would be the size. *NM*
Try to get solid core. If you can't then what I do is drill out the resin core as much as I can. *NM*

I've not seen it in a diameter large enough for this application. Where did you see it, please? *NM*

Use solid solder. The rosin (core) will leak out eventually making quite a mess. *NM*
1/16" would be good for 1.5" pipes, 3/32" would be close for 2 3/8" pipes, 1/8" would be about 3 1/8". You probably won't find any other 'tween sizes. Even 3/32" could be tough to find. *NM*
