OT for the Model Railroaders: Here's someone's neat build video of a cute Japanese HO photoetch kit of a little electric loco. *LINK*

The kit appears to be very well engineered, with neatly folding construction and tab-and-slot joints. It even runs smoothly!

Actual scale is said to be 1:80, to represent a narrow gauge prototype.

Instructions were all in Japanese, but the builder seems to have managed to have figured things out OK.

- That was an awesome little kit. The quality of the photoetched brass was exceptional in detail and precision. *NM*
  - Yeah, I have to wonder how they design the kits to fold and tab together so well. Trial and error? *NM*
    - I don’t think the Japanese leave much to chance. *NM*
    - Since photoetch involves producing a negative of the image for etching it would be easy to do in CAD and then take a photo of it to place over the brass. *NM*
