Inished a couple of days ago the 1949 Ford Pickup PICS

This is the first vehicle completed for my planned Huntsville early sixties diorama. Hillside Farm is just around the corner from where we live..
This kit originally came out in 1964 and this is one of the subsequent reissues with all the shortcomings of kits of that era. The doors are designed to open and close but the conception was better than the reality so one is closed and one is glued open. Louvers were removed from hood and tailgate. As well the cab, hood and fenders took a lot of careful fiddling to fit well. Wheels and hubcaps from AMT 1953 Ford Pickup. Chassis leveled to remove rake.
My friend Jim 3d printed the milk churns as well as printing the decals. Hillside Farm was founded in 1925. My friend Wayne gave me the kit so thanks to both of them. The diamond upholstery on the doors and seat were removed and new inside door panels made. The instrument panel was found on the net and printed to size.
The yellow paint is a custom mix which I made to resemble butter!
