It was absorbed into FineScale Modeler Magazine, whihc now besides military and other similar models also features more automotive models. but it is nothing like the original SAE.
They still produce an annual Contest Car issue which features photos form contests from the previous year.

My model club's contest is in October. When I sent the contest photos to the magazine, they get published in the following issue of Contest Cars (which comes out in the Fall of the following year). So the photos I took in October 2023 will show up on the issue that comes out in Fall of 2024.
