Way back in 1975 I saw a little all red Peterbilt small COE stake truck at the Peterbilt factory in Newark, California. Photos of it are long gone from my collection but I rediscovered the truck hiding in the background of other 70's Peterbilt factory photos.
I scratchbuilt the cab in 2016 and last month decided to build the model - combining parts from an AMT Ford Stake Truck and Kenworth W925. The stake racks are Evergreen slotted sheet cut into strips to simulate metal racks. The 2 hole wheels are resin pieces from DoubleTakeResin (no long in biz).
The companion cabover stake truck is a 352 stake truck also owned by Peterbilt that I photographed back in '75. I built this model 20 years ago - it's fitting the ladies in red are reunited.
Thanks for looking!
