I got a can of Purple Sunrise which I intended to paint the Monogram 55 Ford F100 my daughter bought me as a present. It's molded in white but when reading the instructions I realized it's supposed to be sprayed over Testors black basecoat. I have a can of the preferred base coat but I'm curious if different colors underneath will affect the final color or reduce the amount of color shift or final color. I just want it to be at least purplish because it is her favorite color. I also intend to clear coat it if that won't have unintended consequences.
